Hello!
I took my rabbit to the vet about four days ago. My rabbit has pneumonia and was given medication for this. She also has a large fur ball (also given medication for this). The vet said that with the medications, my rabbit should start to feel better and will begin to eat again. Well, it's been four days and she still does not eat on her own. Yesterday I decided to mash down her pellet food and have been injecting that into her mouth. She does eat dark greens, but the vet said to not to feed her that. That what she needs to eat are only pellets and hay.
She will NOT eat the pellets and the hay. What can I do to get her to eat these things on her own?? She has fresh water in her cage. If I hold the dish up to her, sometimes she will begin to drink the water. She doesn't seem to drink the water on her own. So that's another problem. She seems to be getting better, it's just so strange how she's still not eating on her own (unless it's dark greens, which she is not allowed to eat right now)
