I just bought my sister pair of dwarf hamsters for her birthday. One is a grey, natural variety male, the other is a winter white female. The female has been attacking the male and we had to seperate them. They were in a twenty gallon long aquarium.

Well unless you want pups you're better seperate them now. When fighting in dwarves happens they only should be split if there is blood.
my guess is that they are same sex. You either have two females or two males. I breed Dwarf Hamsters and have learned a lot about their behavior. Infact I've never seen a female attack a male or the other way around. If you have a male and a female they will get along from the start.
