Petting our hamster

PeterOrourke Jun 18, 2003 04:56 PM

We love holding and playing with our hamster, a beige Jungarian (I'm not sure this kind is called that in the US-we live in Japan).Anyway, the point is we get some people telling us that handling hamsters too much is bad for them, which makes me feel a little guilty that we play and pet her so much. She's become very tame and is a great joy. Any advice please?

it is fine to hold your hamster as much as you want it will get tame and after a while you can just walk around and it will follow you

I seriously doubt most hamsters follow their owners around. Their curious nature overrides their attachment to you.
