Breeding Russian Dwarfs

piewackit Jul 05, 2003 08:44 PM

I was recently given a pair of females 7-8 weeks old housed together from the same litter. I was wondering if it would be possible to breed one or both of them if I got a pair of russian males from a different litter. Would introducing the males to them be a problem? I would really like to breed them. I have been breeding Syrian hamsters as a hobby for a few years now and have a good reputation with pet stores localy. my new dwarfs I've had for a week and are really tame and love a fuss. I have kept russians as pets before and not bred them so this is mostly new to be as the Syrian's social behaviour is different.

Thanks in advance

Jane

This page talks about breeding, it includes a section on introductions.

Hope that helps!
