Hello, im new here but anyways i just got a hamster, shes about a couple months old got her from the petshop,where she lived there was no toys ot mazes. ect so when i brought her now she had new stuff tpplay with, but wont HSE JUST SLEEPS ALL DAY AND HALF OR THE NIGHT?!?! i its normal for them to sleep during the day, but at night?!?! she will wake up eat and play just a bit then go back to sleep, i think shes afraid of the tube maze i have bcz she wont use that or the wheel, or her ball? maybe i just got stuck with a bad apple, more less the LAZY one!!
please help me if u can!@!!

Hamsters are nocturnal they sleep in the day and sometimes the early evening. I have one here that sleeps most of the time and wakes every 3 hours to go have a play then goes back to sleep for another 3. my russian dwarfs rarely surface out of the nest till 10pm and go back in around 5/6am ish I doubt its anything to worry about. as your hamster gets to know you and what times you are there it will tend to be awake at that time. try feeding it at the same time every evening after a few weeks it should respond to that and be there waiting wide awake. doesnt work with all hamsters but works with most of mine.
