Later today our hamster escaped, leaving her brood of 3 day old babies behind. She was gone all day. In her absence, we fed the babies some milk through an eye-dropper. When we finally found her at 11pm, she began to maul and bite her babies! We did not touch them at all. Could it have been the milk? We removed the babies(by hand) and have them in another cage. Is it possible to raise them without their murderous mother?
