hamsters fighting

heys!!
My little sister got two 8 week old dwarf hamsters the other day. They were in a 10 gal cage at the pet store with about 12 other ones. We think that they're both male. Anyways, the reason i'm writting is because they fight! They're cage is in our room and we heard them making noises, so we watched them for awhile and they fight, but it does't really look like they're trying to hurt each other. i don't know much about hamsters, i only have reptiles, but they don't play like that do they? Or should we seperate them because they're both males?? Thanks!

sorry bout that, we actually believe, after looking at pics on how to sex hamsters online, that they are both girls. Either way, we know for sure that they are both the same sex. Last night my sister tried to seperate them, she just put a divader thingey down the middle of the cage, and all they did was try to get back together, so that didn't work very well. They're so loud at night! I didn't relize that such little critters could keep me up all night, lol. The last time we had hamsters we kept them all downstairs. Anyways, i read somewhere that you shouldn't seperate them unless the fighting draws blood, is this true? Thanks for any help!!

Dwarves tend to play fight or fight over dominance. Only seperate if there's blood.
