wanting a dwarf hamster paradise

rep Dec 12, 2003 09:50 PM

I have always been a rat and mouse person and have only had hamsters (3 female dwarfs) for a short time (and I am enjoying it they are very sweet just like my rattys!). I keep them in a two story wire cage and they seem very happy. However, I have always wanted to have a collection of hamster cages connected together with a bunch of tubes and add ons. So, with Christmas coming up I decided to blow all my money on my life long hamster dream (yes I did spend more money on my hammys presents then on anyone in my human family!). Here is what I got: crittertrail extreme, habitrail safari and safari maze, habitrail space station, S.A.M ant farm thingy, and a bunch of tubes. Sound like a good hamster home? What is another good cage that dwarfs seem to like (and I am only looking to add one more cage!). The rotastak space thing looks nice. Also, I must say, all this space and only 3 dwarfs? Should I buy one or two more or is it better to this stick with the three siblings? Yes, a week after Christmas cage cleaning will be a nightmare, but hey, I find joy in simple things like that. Bye all, take care!

Oh yeah, I have one more question to ask. What do you think of rotastak cages? Where could I get them for a good price?

Rotastak are pretty good tho there are cheaper versions available... be careful tho, if the tubes arent fitted totally right hamsters have been known to escape and go wandering.. luckily mine nwas a lazy boy who couldnt be bothered to walk further than the edge of the shelf!
