Please Help-Is Lucy Dying?

MaryL Sep 04, 2004 12:47 PM

Ok, I don't know where else to go with this, I hope someone can help me. I have a teddy bear hamster that I've had for about 2 1/2 years, I don't know how old it was when I bought it and I know that hamster don't have a very long life span. This afternoon my brother came over and he wanted to see her, so as usual I was gently trying to wake her, calling her name and offering a treat. It took a long time for her to open her eyes and then she started shaking and squeeking, so I left the treats in the cage and left her alone. She was just doing her normal running around last night, I didn't suspect anything was wrong. Why was she shaking, she was acting like she was having a seizure. She saw the treats and tried to get to them but couldn't stop shaking. Is she nearing the end?
TIA.
Mary

But unfortunitely without seeing it, I would not know. If this is something that keeps up call your Vet and have her looked at.

Here is a site you may find useful as far as illness info.

Shaking, and trembling are associated with a few things such as diabetis, stroke and hybernation !

Heres the link, I sure hope she will be okay, please let us know !

Thank you for the response. She seems fine now, but what a scare. She's never done that before. I'm still keeping an eye on her. Thanks again.
