i have 3 roborovski hamsters, all in separate cages after having made it clear that they "needed their space" (despite my husbands best efforts as peace negotiator with his sign "why can't we all just get along?". now, the one is starting to excessively chew the spot right above his tail (excessive because he drew blood and is now removing fur). i first thought this was caused by the fighting when they were all together, but it now seems to be self-inflicted... or, at least, self-maintained. does anyone know how i can get him to stop? i just know that no good can come from this.
his diet is good, with proper balance of protein. he has a sand bath to play in (although he seems to prefer to use it as his personal bathroom), plenty of toys... and is not being disturbed too much during sleep time. ironically, he is generally the calmest and most hand-tame of the three. can anyone help?
