Fighting Roborovskis

jip42 Jan 11, 2005 06:44 AM

I have my four male robos for over a year. I had to separate all but two of them early on since they were fighting.

Last night I found one of the cohabiting pair all bitten up with blood scabs on his back.

I have removed him from the cage and put him in temporary accommodation by himself. I was wondering if anyone has ever managed to re-introduce a bullied robo back into the shared cage? I already have 3 large cages and so if possible would love the two to continue living together (as they have done for the past 12 months happily). Why would they suddenly start to fight? Any tips for getting them to cohabit peacefully would be welcome.

The injured one died last night sadly. I am not sure if it was shock as the wounds had healed up quite well. It was terrible since he was shaking and curled in a ball on his back for a while before he passed on. The vet said it could have been anything - not necessarily the fight caused him to die.

Very sad. Seems like maybe he was hurt internally maybe/ stressed, or whatever. Its a shame.

I have never personally had this breed, but I was thinking maybe you can contact the poster below (very nice to talk with) username roborancher.

I was talking with roborancher about 2 weeks ago, about this breed, maybe if ya click the name or even leave a post, you two could share your experiences, and care for these lil guys.

I hope you feel better soon, again sorry for your lose
