Lump on Belly

SarahNicole Apr 19, 2005 08:08 PM

Hi,

I'm a new hamster owner. I purchased a Siberian Dwarf hamster about two months ago. I just now noticed a small, round lump on the belly. It's about the size of a thumbtack, and is tannish in color, and the skin is kinda flaky. The lump itself is pretty flat, but is definitely outside the body, is easy to see, and if you're just feeling for it, you probably won't notice it. Any ideas on what it could be? Thanks so much!

Sounds like maybe a small syst of somekind. I personally would ask a vet, any kind of protrution or lumps should really be seen by a professional.

Could be something real harmless like an old scar , or something that should be removed. Just hard to tell over the computer.

I hope he will be fine, and wish you a ton of luck with him, let us know how ya make out and what you find out!

Take care,
-----
