I've had hammies since I was 6 years old (I am 27 now)....I just love those little guys....nothing warms the heart more then full pouches and sound of a wheel....We recently lost one of our family pets (our rabbit Dublin) to an accident caused by his cage...my 3 1/2 year old has been sad....our new edition (Pearl) can not replace Dublin ofcourse but shes helped my 3 1/2 year old alot......I will ofcourse have to work w/ miss pearl for awhile to get her tame before my daughter can pet her....Here is a pic of miss Pearl....I may also post some pics of my other hammies I've had....They were such a joy and I'm excited to have another little one to share our home w/...My oldest hammie lived to a nice old age of 6 years...He was so well trained I could put him in the sink to pee LOL....They can be so much closer to you then people seem to think....But all of you know this anyway, glad to be here and I hope to share many more pics of our little miss pearl in the future.

Hello and thank you for the greeting....yes we are all still very upset over Dublin....I am still working on getting those cages removed from the store shelves....I had not planned on getting any other pets anytime soon...But I was at the petshop getting crickets for our gecko (Aisa) and my daughter seemed to be very interested in the hamsters....I have had many hamsters over the years actually its been odd around here w/out one....She has actually made me feel a little better (although the horror of what happened to my our baby I will never forget)...I guess I needed another little furry friend to care for in my house.
