Hello,
I just got a Roborovski a week and 3 days ago. He's gotten to shy and too scared of me. I have him in a 20 gallon tank, and i was told i need to grab him frequently to tame him, but since he is so fast and the tank is so big i had a hard time grabbing him so i chased him a few times to grab it and i think that might have made him too scared. I know they are nocturnal, but he is always hiding during the day comes out sometimes only. evrytime he is out i try to approach him in a different way by putting my hand flat on the ground of the tank and give him a treat whether is a piece of apple or a mixed nuts bite. he nipped a little twice but it wasn't hard and didn't hurt. Sometimes i have made a sudden move and take my hand out cause i get too a little scare that he'll bite me hard. i don't want to force him and grab him and stress him more, so i'm trying to go slowly. I heard it might be very difficult to get him out of that. Will he get out of this? I'm not sure if he has been using the wheel for the last 2 or 3 days i have not seen or heard him, but i don't know if he does it late when i'm sleeping. Sometimes when i'm close to him he just goes to his lttle corners and does not want to move, if i get closer he'll run away and lately he kind of lays there or puts his ears backwards, i dont know if he is sad. I haven't had hamsters since i was a very young child so i'm no expert and i'm worried about him, i hope i'm doing the right things. If somebody can help me and let me know what else i can do. Also, is it ok that i give him small pieces of apples, berries, carrot, cabbage as treats? and aslo those healthy bites and yogurt drops? he is about 7 weeks old i was told it was ok at the pet shop
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and any help
