If the are legal in your area you can keep as many as you want. Technically I think if someone is new to exotic animal/sugarglider keeping, they should only keep one because they can become a handful to some people. I love them so much and I dont mind cleaning their cage every day, feeding and watering them everyday, playing with them for at least two hours, everyday. You have to have that love, that desire to want to raise a sugar glider the right way. In some ways it is almost like caring for a small child. If you raise it right they can become quite rewarding pets. Flying squirrels, in my opinion, arent as hight maintenence and arent as good of pets. Ive never had one but I have read and talked to people that have had them, and everyone says sugar gliders are much much better pets. In a way they are almost the same as gliders. Gliders need more cage space, more food, and more attension than flyers.
