Hello everyone. Im interested in purchasing a pair of gliders, howerver, do not know the proper husbandry for keeping and maintaining these adorable creatures. That being said im not going to buy any untill i can give the care these need. I have read up a little on sugargliders, but not much (Im a snake guy with over 20).

Can anyone point me to some good readings, webpages.. etc etc so i can broaden my knowledge of thes gliders?

The first thing you need to do is buy a sugar glider book online and read it as many times as possible until you memorize all of the material. I bought my first book at an Animal Show in S.C. and I read it so much to the point where it was bugging my parents. Now I have two gliders and they have had a litter and I am a happy, knowlegeable sugar glider owner.

There are a plethera of websites. Here are a few:

www.sugarglider.net
www.sugargliders.org
www.sugarglider.com
www.usgn.org
www.sugargliderinfo.com
www.usgn.org
www.glidersanonymous.com
www.worldwidesugarglidernetwork.com

among many, many others.

Much of the information on these sites is very good, and at times, more accurate than things you'll read in lay literature.

Good luck with your search and reading on sugar gliders!

It is my opinion that in order to be fully prepared for a sugarglider, you have to have a vet, a cage set up, food in your refrigerator, and a list of foods that they can eat so you know what kinds of foods to buy at the grocery store.
