Hey there,
Ok, so what exactly is your whole diet you are feeding them each night?
I have heard of Gliders getting these deficiancies, but have never experienced it myself. 7 years of glider breeding, and no problems of any kind. So hopefully I can help give you a better diet plan! YOu can email me directly at zooanimalsgirl@yahoo.com if you want to.
As far as other protien things, you dont need live food or tofu!
Though they really do like the crickets, it is not always an easy thing for some of us to get as I live an hour away from the nearest pet store!
Go to Walmart or whatever grocery store is closest to you and go to the baby food section. Look closely at them. You will eventually find with all the jars of baby foods, MEAT STICKS. Read carefully as there is Turky Sticks, Ham sticks, Chicken Sticks, there is one that is labeled MEAT STICKS. By Gerber. They are perfectly safe for the gliders. No preservitives or anything bad. And the gliders go crazy over them. Break one or two, depending on how many gliders you have, into chunks and put them on a platter for them. since they have the deficiancy I would say to do it every night. Until they start getting better. though chances of your paralized one getting better is probably not going to happen. They dont usually recover from that. But once your other gliders seem to be of good weight then slow down to every other night, then to once a week feeding them the meat. they can get overweight from too much protien very easilly.
I also hope your vet is certain that this is deficiancy and not obesity. Obesity is the main cause of paralisis, so giving them the extra protien in that case would just make things worse!
But I will assume he is correct and I hope the meat sticks idea helps you.

You need to determine what caused the HLP. It can be caused by nutritional deficiencies, by a diet with a poor calcium/phosphorus ratio, but it can also be caused by parasitic illnesses like giardia that leech nutrients from the glider's use. So if your vet only told you to change your diet, and did not do fecal checks to determine the CAUSE of the HLP, you may have the wrong treatment and diagnosis.
