I HAVE to stop reading all these posts...it's going to make me depressed!!! Oh WHY do Sugar Gliders have to be illegal in California?!?! They seem like the sweetest darned things!!!

awww.... that's so sad! did you look at southern flying squirrels? they're cute as all get out, maybe even moreso than gliders? maybe they're okay?

well, they're awfully cute. i mean, they look like a squirrel in the face, but i think they're generally smaller than your regular squirrel. do a search on southern flying squirrels, i can't remember what sites i was on. but from what i gathered, they run a little less money, and are pretty close to sugar gliders. how come gliders are illegal in cali? is there a really good reason?

Nope the flying squirrel is illegal too. Anything non native is illegal... they are afraid that it will get away from the owner and breed and create problems since Cali's climate is perfect for non native animals to thrive in. Just like Florida...and unfortunetly is true for Florida... LOTS of people just let thier exotics go there. EVERYTHING imaginable is out there. Cobras, Nile Monitors, Bears, Tigers, you name it, its there... because of thier climate. Cali is scared that will happen there.

Same reason as ferrets, hedghogs, chinchillas, and any other exotic...cause california is STUPID! Well thier laws are anyways... Ok, I'm sure that will offend SOMEONE out there, but really, I dont care..thier laws are stupid. Cali isnt the only state that has these retarded laws. There are others. And some states with even dumber laws, like not being able to own RATS AND MICE as pets..... Yeh, that means as well if you own a snake in that state you have to order prekilled frozen mice/rats ONLINE and have them shipped.... I will never live in these states... I moved away from Cali when I turned 18. No regrets.
