eye infection.....need help!!!

hi everyone....i'm new to the forum and the reason for my post is that my little guy's eyes are swollen and he cant really open them. this morning i cleaned out a white'ish substance and he was able to open them a little more. please if anyone has ever had this let me know what i can do!!! thanks

Dehydration is a great cause. Not enough FRESH DAILY water supply. If that is not the case you NEED to take it to a vet to get antibiotics which you will most liekly have to do anyways. I never had a glider do this . But raised rats and in my early years they had this due to dehydration. It cleared up but never knew if it left damage. Cleared up with propper hydration. I would take your guy to the vet and get antibiotics ASAP. This can lead to blindness and even death do to infection spreading to the brain. Good luck.

Absolutely. The first thing you should do is quarantine him away from other animals, provide plenty of water and food, and cover the cage to reduce stress. Then immediately see a vet, cause these guys are just too small to wait... Best of luck.
