Is this normal???

Well my female had babies again. It and seems everytime she has babies my male gets more and more fatherly... Now I thought males would kill babies but he is doing just the opposite. Today when I was checking the babies out and putting them back in to their original spot the female would move them but then the male would pick one up and bring it back to the original spot. I checked the cage a few hours ago and he even took a few and is laying with them and mom has the rest. It's the oddest thing I have seen so far... and do you think that mice can trust you? Because when I put the babies back in the cage she crawls in my hand and takes the baby out before I put it down. And if I am poking around in the cage by the babies she will poke her head through my fingers just to see what I am doing... this may happen with you people but I find it really neat that she seems to trust me.... any comments.. please let me know!

yes my mice are very trusting too. i hold all my litters from day 1 and the mothers almost never mind.

also here is a link to a site with rodent forums.

Mouse forums

click on community then there are two mouse forums(scroll down)there is a ton of info on here and many helpful people. just remember that these are pet forums. If you breed mice for snake food don't tell them this. most will tolerate it but it can get you banned. I breed for my snakes and for pet and show quality but i don't mention the snakes unless the topic comes up. So, step lightly and it is a great forum. people here go on every day and most are experts in mouse care so your questions will be answered timely and fully check it out, it will answer most of your questions.

Also my males are more protective of the babies than the mothers are LOL but they still trust me

Males normally do a very good job fathering, and take excellent care of their babies. By the way, how many litters has your female had? How many do you plan on her having? If left with the male she will continuously get preganant and could literally 'breed' to death. Just FYI.
