Communicabile Mites?

As I have mensioned before, I think one of my mice has mites. I also have gerbils. Is it possible that if I touched the mice then touched the gerbils without washing my hands, they could also get them? I have been disinfecting my hands because I'm trying to be percautious. Any help would be much appreciated

Yes, your gerbils could get mites from your mice.
