Wild Baby Mouse??

katie8 Oct 06, 2004 04:53 PM

Hi, my little neighbor found his cat with a mouse in its mouth. He brought it to me, because he wasn't sure if it is okay. It's pretty young, probably in its little grasshopper stage. Well, its front paw seems to be limp, and she is not putting pressure on it. Also, there is blood near her butt on the base of the tail. I am not sure exactly wher it is coming from because she will play dead, then spring to life, and start hobbling around and then she trys to make a break for it!! I have given her water in a bottle cap and some hay (which she has eaten a little of) that I feed to my chinnies(chinchillas). Currently, she is asleep. Let me know if there is anything I can do for her.

By the way, as soon as I know she is alright, she is being released!! That is where she belongs!! (Unless, she has some sort of crippling problem, which I doubt is the case)
Thanks a lot,
Katie8

I would take it to your local vet. They will send it to you local wildlife rehabilitation center for you without charge. I've done it many times before.
