SOMEBODY ANY BODY PLEASE HELP ME WITH DORMICE.....

kacie May 14, 2005 01:43 AM

My friend has recieved 5 dormice. 2 female and 3 male. She asked me to look up the info for breeding on the net. ALL I have found is that they are banned from the USA. She says the pet shop told her that they where Japanese Dormice. But they do not look like the Japanese ones they look more like the African or those fat dormice. Is there a site out there that shows all the pictures of all breeds so that we can decide what type of mouse this is.... They look very similair to a Sugar Glider only real diffrence is in the color these are either brown or gray. Please if you know what kind of dormouse this or know where we can find out POST BACK.. We do not want to get in trouble for breeding the ILLEGAL ones.

Do you have any pictures?
Best thing to do is post a picture and it will be easier to see if it's a common dormice or Japanese. Below is a picture of a regular dormice.

These look and act just like Sugar Gliders besides there color. What ones are the "regular" Dormice? Is there so web site that shows the different breeds. I have been looking and can't find anything. I am not sure how to post a pic of them. I have a digital camera but don't know how to make it work on here.

I pretty much just did a search on google to find that picture. There are many different kinds of dormice out there.

To transfer pics from your camera, just load them onto your computer, resize them by conferting them to jpegs (your camera software should have a feature to do this, if not, most basic photo editing programs will let you to convert to jpeg or gif format). Once converted, go to the photo gallery here on kingsnake and upload your pictures then you can select your pictures from the list below the message screen (when you click reply or new message, it's one of the fields below)
