Is it possible to determine the sex of pinkies. If not, what is the youngest age that mice can be sexed at. Thanx alot.

It is possible to sex pinkies, but it isn't easy. Compare the distance between the anus and urethra (what they pee out of). Males will have a greater distance than females.

The best time to sex baby mice is the fuzzy stage, as this is when the nipples develope and they are easy to see with the light peachfuzz. Only females will have nipples. The distance between anus and urethra can be used at all age stages but once the mice are 4-5 weeks old, it is quite obvious which ones are the males. Males have quite noticeable testicles. One thing to note though, is when picking up males by their tails, they often suck in their testicles, so don't be fooled if there is no actual bulge, especially if there is a little fold of skin. Check the distance as well, or just let the male rest on your hand w hile holding by the tail, most times they will relax enough for th eir testies to come down again.
