Me and my boyfriend bought two hopper mice a few days ago, and one of them acts fine, but the other one is slightly smaller, its ears are always laid back, and it acts like it has trouble moving around, is slow and doesn't move around much, and if it falls on its back it has trouble getting up. It was fine when we got it. It just started acting like this yesterday.

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with it?

Could be a few things. First off, are you sure they are both completely weaned? Hopper mice are typically only 2-3 weeks old and are still dependent on mother's milk and care. Once mice are over 3 weeks old, they are weaned, though its better to wait till they are 4 weeks old before separating them from their mother.

Inner ear imbalances can cause the behavior you are describing.

I suggest taking both mice to a vet who specializes in pocket pets or small mammals.

Thanks for the help, but it died last night. I'm not sure how old it was, but my boyfriend's mouse looked a little older than mine.

sorry to hear it died. Might want to get the other one checked to be safe. If it was some sort of disease, then it ay have spread to the healthy looking one.
