Natalie Woodrat

I got a good pic of her last night.
She's so huge & we can't figure out why but in the last week she's lost a tiny bit of weight.. I hope the vet will figure out what her problem is soon.
Here's the poor baby girl who would be all alone if the babies hadn't joined her:

She is a pretty big girl. I have a huge male rat and my vet can't seem to find anything wrong with him. She is going to keep on searching though because none of my other males are that big. She's very pretty though.

Your big guy is beautiful!!

The thing is with Natalie is that in January she suddenly gained all this weight very quickly. Part of the reason it happened was because Faye Dunarat was very ill with heart disease & I was keeping Ensure in a water bottle to give Faye more nutrition.. Natalie got some too.
Then Faye died from the heart disease and we thought Natalie would lose the weight fairly quickly once the extras were gone but she hasn't.
When Gina was alive she was extremely obese, we never found out why. She took thyroid meds for a little while but it didn't help. The vet was going to run some blood work on her then she died suddenly so.. we never found out what caused the obesitiy.
At least Natalie has lost some of the weight, not enough but some.
Maybe since the babies are making her more active then a little more exercise might help her.

She is awfully pretty! I have this mouse, Schubert, who is such a fatty!! I have him and his chubby buddy Johann on a diet. The little fatties are so cute though.

Thank you I think she's beautiful.
She is older, she was spayed when she was about 8 months old.. so that could have a little bit to do with this.
Then she did have the urinary tract infection.. that can cause some edema.... I dunno she's feeling really good right now so maybe she'll lose more weight.
