Well Clubber's in rat heaven now....I'm extremely mad at the fact that he was just a baby and left way too soon....especially after being saved from becoming snake food.

I'm so sorry to hear that, sorry for your loss
Sorry to hear that. Sounds like he was never in very good shape to begin with.
If you decide to try again, I'd definitely avoid that same vendor and also make sure you fully clean and disinfect everything in the cage so your new one(s) don't catch the mites.
Oh no! I am so sorry this happened already.
I agree if you try again look for a better source, maybe one bred to be a pet rather than food would be a bit healthier.
That's a maybe because sometimes they are, sometimes not, depends on the people breeding them.

I'm so sorry about Clubber.
I know you'll make a great rat parent, just keep looking and I know you'll find some great babies that are bred to be healthy. Try a local pet breeder. AFRMA or RMCA, I can't remember which one, but one of them has a breeder listing. My first two rats were rescued feeders and both passed away within a week, so I know how awful you feel right now. But you did a good thing for Clubber and his last days were spent in a happy home with you.
