I have a grunty little pigrat!!

PHRatz Mar 06, 2007 09:50 AM

I haven't had a grunty rat since Tiger Woodsrat died.
He started that excited grunting when he was a baby & did it his whole life.
Now Reba Ratentire is doing it!
It's so funny, I am so glad to hear that again.

All the babies are with the program now, even Tanya.
The last couple of nights I've been able to take her to the playground and back without having to hold on tight. She's even used me as a jungle gym.. she's still more skittish than the others but she's really settling down now.
Then I heard Reba & that grunting.. really cracked me up!

That is just too cute! I have had only two rats do that since I have owned them. You just reminded me of how much I miss that sound! I am glad to hear that Tanya is trusting you now pretty soon she should be just as laid back as the others.

You know I think Reba is only my 3rd rat to do the grunting.
I'd forgotten that some rats do that until I heard it again.
It's so cute!

Last night she & Loratta discovered a new "game" then Reba scared the crap out of herself.
They climb up on my shoulders then climb down my back inside my shirt. They get about half way down my back then come back up.. well Reba went to far & ended up outside my shirt on the chair.
That FREAKED her out because she didn't know where she was. LOL

I picked her up, she felt very scared, then I put her back in the playground where she ran into the Igloo behind Natalie & sat there motionless, with big eyes, very scared.
I thought GOOD, they need to know that leaving the playground isn't something they should never do.
I got them some treats & then she calmed down again.
That was so cute though!
