Post your favorite rat pics!

captjacksmom Mar 22, 2007 11:14 PM

I guess now that I'm ratless, I'm thinking about them more than ever. Pics of other peoples' rats might help give me a fix for the next few days. I even miss the way they smell. Not the dirty cage smell, but the rats themselves. LoL

Post your favorite pics here!

Here's Jack rat in the Christmas tree. (I have a dog named Jack now, but he came with the name). I'm really more creative than naming 2 pets the same thing. Usually. I did ask DH is we could name the human baby Jack, but he thought the dog would get confused. (The dog is challenged anyway, no fair confusing him even more, I guess.)

The 2 fatty boys were Milo and Tucker, the laziest (and some of the sweetest) rats on the planet. They gave great kisses.

Well ok now you've given me an excuse to go on a photo hunt!
DH put a new hard drive on this machine, he put all my photos in a jumbled mess on CDs so I have no idea exactly where my favorite photos are lol.

However I can post some of my more recent photos.
One of those faves is Sofia Lorat by herself, she had the permanent head tilt & would still be here if she hadn't developed cancer.
(it was just like Arnold, it was cancer on the face-even same type)

This is probably my favorite rat picture. It's old, a couple years now I would guess, but still very cute.

Darn it my babies are still a tad skittish tonight.. is it the stormy weather? Maybe that's it. They weren't nearly as bad as last night but because there were nervous tonight.. I didn't take any pics.
I need to do that soon!

...to post a pic of my big boy Rocky eating a rat as a joke...but I won't do it. Instead...here are some pics of Rocky not eating.

PS-Once Isis calms down I'll try taking some pics of her.

That's a really cool snake, I love how the light reflects on his scales. I've never seen one like that before. I am a little leery of snakes after a little experience I had when I was about 11. I was at our neighbors' house playing with the girl that lived there, I was about to start walking toward the house when I saw something move on the ground. It was a cotton mouth snake (poisonous!!), and it was ready to strike. I just about passed out, and the other girl ran to the house and her dad scared it off. So I am traumatized!!! I do pet the humongous python in the reptile store though... I love how snake scales feel. I think I could have a snake that ate only eggs. I could never feed a rat or mouse or hamster or anything to another animal. I don't even feed my rodents crickets or worms. Ick. Pretty snake though... sorry for the rant.

He's a Colombian Rainbow boa...if you think he's cool...you should see his Brazilian cousins...they are much more beautiful than he(sorry Rocky!).

I just had to feed him a rat today....I felt a little bad but hey...my heart forever lies with the reptiles...and I cannot change that.

PHRatz Mar 25, 2007 09:48 AM

Henry is beautiful..

I guess your dh wouldn't like to be called that so I'll say he's handsome.

Here's baby Pachebel taking us through the drive-thru on the way home from picking up him and his brother Fillmore. Pachebel is now FREAKIN' HUGE! Last time I weighed him he was 21 ounces, and he's a good bit bigger now. Not an ounce of fat on him either, he's just a really big built rat.
