O/T the DVP dog food

PHRatz Mar 28, 2007 10:35 AM

Stevie Ray got to have a little bit of dog food yesterday for the first time.
He's not supposed to go back to it full time just yet but..
I did try the Dick Van Patten food, he ate it with no problem.
So he will eat it.. that's the first step.. we'll see how he's doing on it in a month. I want to give it that long to make sure we like it.

BTW yesterday when he had his check up the vet gave me the string they'd pulled out of him.. it's tiny & actually it looks like it came from a rope bone. The day he had the endoscopy & said it was string.. I threw all those in the garbage but.. we all know he'll eat something he's not supposed to eat again.
LOL

With the DVP, Tico (my chi) had a nice coat, minimal poops that didnt smell horrible... it was nice LOL

I don't give mine ropes anymore either... they tear them up and try to eat them also. LUCKILY I've never had one have problems YET.

I'll keep ya updated on the food.

I'm afraid to give the rats toys with string too..
This is O/T again but I remember in the last days of AOL before Time Warner completely killed it.. I was talking with a woman on the lovebird board after we caught this one that we have now in our backyard.
The woman had bought rope/stringy bird toys then both her lovebirds died. She had them necropsied & BOTH of them had swallowed string from the rope toys. She contacted the toy maker, they paid her a thousand or so bucks for the loss of her pets.. but that didn't bring them back.
When that happened I threw every rope/string bird toy I had in the trash.
Now this happened to the dog.. are these things safe for ANY pet?
