Just a question

I have 3 rats. Two fancy & one blue. I've noticed that the blue's head seems to be wider, almost mouse like, as opposed to the shape of the fancies. Does anyone know what this means?

Is she a dumbo by any chance (larger ears set lower on the sides of the head)? Their heads look wider to me.

Different genes. They're all fancy rats, by the way. Fancy rats is just another name for domesticated rats. I have two pairs of littermates, and you can definitely tell they're not related. Tchaikovsky and Chopin are smaller built with more mousy looking faces and their ears are higher on their heads. They're slimmer, they have shorter tails, and they're a little jumpier than Pachebel and Fillmore. Nothing is wrong with either one as long as they're healthy.

Is the one that has the bigger head a male? You can tell the difference between a male and female rat by the size and shape of their heads
