Welcome to my world - OT

Hello everyone...I'm really short on time so I'm just taking a post that I made on another forum and modifying it for here, lol. After reading this you'll understand why I have no time right now. I know this is more info than most of you really care to know but this is kinda big for me and hopefully will be for those of you who have known me forever. The good news is that my stress and lack of personal time/money is keeping me on track of remaining ratless a little longer till I can get home settled and financially stable again. BTW for those of you who don't know what I'm in school for...I'll be receiving my Doctor of Chiropractic degree and am sooooooooo excited!!!

So here's my modified post:

Here's the scoop. Prolly TMI but my mind's racing so please deal

I got a late start in outpatient clinic thanks to surgery and a broken hand. I didn't think I was going to get my patient numbers to graduate with my class so I was lounging around a lot being a slacker and planning to stay in school to graduate 4 months late. I couldn't sit around without going crazy so I made a real effort to catch up with my class and it's paying off. Now it looks like I can actually make the 80% complete mark, walk with my class and finish up by mid July.

I have been meeting or exceeding my patient goals in clinc every week and will be done with classes on May 24. However to reach my final goal, I've been pulling double shifts in the clinic with classes in between. Now I am starting a review for the last part of my licensing boards (and YAY I passed the two parts took in march) so I am/ will be at school from 8am-10pm M-F and 9-5 on weekends.

Also, my parents are heading out here to stay with me for 10 days, help pack, take a van load of stuff back with them and let me shoot x rays of them to help me get my numbers. Once they leave I'll have 2 days before my friend moves in with her husband and kids who are 3 and 5. This should be tons of fun in a one bedroom apartment. They'll be leaving the first week of June, then my family returns on the 11th and will be here through the 17th. Graduation is the 15th and my BF is literally heading out for 2 nights to be here for it I'll finish up my requirements, check out, pack up and move home in mid July then probably sleep for 2 weeks.

After that, my goal is to find a mindless job for 6 months till I can get my license in MA and actually open a practice around Jan 1st.

I also just found out that I may have friends from Boston coming to visit me and be seen in the clinic to help me graduate. I understand that I should not be so focused on my numbers lol...but I have to say that they're right there in my face now that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm also freaking out cause I'm quickly running out of places to put people in my apartment lol. All I can say is I get the bathroom first in the mornings since it's my place

My dad had a sign when he was finishing up his second masters degree and I now have it. I've used it as a siggy before but never really understood its true meaning until now..."As soon as this is over I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. I worked for it, I deserve it and *&@!^&* nobody's going to take it away from me!!!"

So if you could send happy "you're going to graduate" thoughts and kiss your ratties for me I'd really appreciate it.

Oh Meg I am proud of you.
It seems like you've been in school forever & now you're finally going to graduate, this is wonderful!!!
It's going to be a whole new Meg once you move back home & get settled down then can get baby rats again. hee hee..
everything in life has to boil down to when we get rats doesn't it?

Hey my Dad always said when you make it, you deserve a gold toothpick. LOL I have NO idea where he got that from but when I started teaching I got a 14K gold toothpick pin for Christmas that really does look like nothing more than a gold colored toothpick that I can pin on a sweater or jacket.
CRACKED ME UP! I keep it in a glass jewelry box as a display in my living room. LOL

Meg when you have time to come back & visit us we'll be here for ya.
CongRATulations on your huge accomplishment!!!!
