>>just wanted to know if anyone knows what the biggest rat breed is. i hear of people sayin they see or heard of huge rat like a few pounds in weight. just wanted to know if anyone has seen them before and were can one get some from well thanks for any help and what are they called thanks
There will always be a varying range for rat weights/sizes (just based on statistical bell curves). But there's also a type of rat called a "Zucker" rat. These rats were genetically mutated for/by laboratories to be obese and also to have diabetes. I did a little net surfing and found a couple links for you. I found some pictures too (third and fourth link.)
Just my two cents here, but if you're thinking about trying to get these rats for feeders, it's probably best to stick with the regular rats we have access too -- all in the spirit of "why borrow trouble" -- you know? <g>
