Ok so you all know I caught a cockatiel about 6-7 weeks ago.
The bird cages are in the living room in a spot where they can hear any sounds that come out of the bedroom where the rats & turtles live. The rats are right by the door so at night when we're watching TV if the rats start to squeal while they play we can hear them.
Because Bart Maverick is a 'tiel I added a new nightlight to the living room because they tend to have night terrors more so than other birds.
So he can see & hear a lot more at night than I had thought about.
A couple of days ago I'd been hearing an odd sound & realized it was Bart. DH came home & heard it.. freaked him out. He said what is that? I said it's Bart.. he said "Did you notice it sounds just like the rats when they're playing?"
ROFL!! NO I didn't realize that until he pointed it out but I just now heard it as I sat here typing.
Bart the cockatiel is imitating the rats!!!

funny thing happened while the birds were on the porch as the firemen used a fan to get the smoke out of the house.
The policeman who was here said:
"I don't think that bird likes me being here, he's been screaming at me the whole time I've been standing here"
