Squirrel baby wasn't eating. Another had diarrhea.

I had a 6 week old female that I was having to force feed. With persistance I was able to get 4-6cc/ml in her. She was also what we call "mushy" which means limp or not active. If you hold an active squirrel in comparrison you really notice a "mushy". My mentor had me put her immediately onto a antibiotic called TMS. I give her 2 drops(an actual measurement medicine plunger) twice a day for ten days. It is very important with any antibiotic to complete the time period the Vet says. After 2 doses she has started feeding on her own and is much more active.

As for the one with diarrhea it started with softer stool than the pellets/droppings you want to see. This morning during his 4 am feeding he passed a bit of diarrhea. I have put him on Pediatlite(orange one). He will go off milk have his feedings be Pedialite instead for two feedings. Then he skips a feeding to clear his system. Then he will go on 6-1 water/formula ratio instead of 5-1, so it will be a bit watered down. My mentor says this should work if not she has another option if necessary.

Sounds like you are doing what you can for them, I know they are quite fragile at times, amazingly strong at others. Last week, I lost one baby between feedings, he had diarrhea (had just come in, and had been fed whole milk and pedialyte for 3 days before coming to me). I knew he was in poor condition, but it never hurts to try. We do what we can!
