HELP Baby Squirrels

What do you feed a baby squirrel that you are rehabilitating?

How old are the babies?

There are replacement formulas availabe, similar to kitten milk replacement formulas.

First- most states require you have a State wildlife rehabilitation permit to legally posess native mammals. Also, baby squirrels truly need to be raised with other squirrels thier own age otherwise they do not learn how to be a squirrel and will reject thier own kind. These solitary squirrels, although may seem healthy at release, generally do not survive in the wild- usually as a result from fighting other squirrels. I would suggest you go to this website:

The other site talks about cow's milk, which is actually not the best for squirrels as they are not ruminants and digest things slightly different (look at the pictures). Most rehabbers order a special formula that you can not find in pet stores.
