For those of you who like UGFs, there are two ways to hook these puppies up with the plates!
About four layers of teflon tape wrapped around the thickest part of their uptake pipes will allow you to insert it whole into the uptake of an under gravel plate.
For those of you who are more adventuous, you can also get a RFUGF elbow from a powerhead, and extend a UGF tube up, out of the aquarium, to attach the outlet hose directly to the elbow. Due to the trouble of finding just the elbows, I don't do it this way too often though...
