Leaky 10 gal

AF Sep 30, 2004 12:39 AM

I've had a 10 gallon tank for over a decade now, and it has started to leak. I have a bit of silicone, which may still be good.

Trouble is, I have no idea where the leak is, or exactly how to go about sealing it. Since the tank's so scratched up and such, I'm wondering if it's even worth saving, but I thought I'd try to find out how to do it before I threw in the towel.

I sealed up my 55 gallon and it has sealed up great. I went to the pet store and bought some all glass aquarium sealent and used a razor blade to scrape off the old. then i put the new silicon on and let it cure for 3 days. It has worked great so far. Hope this helps.

Hmm...

You know, I drained the tank to about half way, and it doesn't leak now. There's silicon on the bottom, and silicon around the top, but none on the inside of the side pannels.

I'm wondering if maybe I can just get away with gooping up the sides and leaving the rest alone...
