I just got 2 ACF yesterday. The larger one is staying towards the top of the water this evening. Is something wrong with it? Is it getting sick?

I don't know too much about ACF but have seen them hanging out at the top of the tank at the pet store. There is a subforum specifically for ACF. Just click on the Reptiles & Amphibians link at the top of the page and it will take you there.
