How does this sound?

sooperbaby Dec 27, 2006 05:21 PM

Hi,
I am going to start a blackwater aquarium with a 30 gallon tank. I am thinking of putting in the following:
2 Small Angels
2 Small Gouramis
1 Betta
3 Zebra Danios
1 Crayfish w/o the claws
3 Cory Cats
5 Cardinal Tetras
3 Otocinclus
2 German Rams
2 Flower Shrimp
Java Moss
Java Fern
Hairgrass
Vallisnera
Amazon Sword

Does this sound like a good fit in a 30 or would a larger tank be recommended? I am planning on getting everything no larger than 3 inches first and let them grow.
Thanks for the help evryone!

A betta shouldn't be put in a tank with slow swimmers... that's just asking for fin nipping. Also, bettas are aggressive fish, so they need to be housed by themselves, although I've seen several female bettas housed together, it depends on the bettas.

Angelfish require specific water parameters, did you do the research? If not, I can recommend a site.

I would recommend a larger tank. Plus, the bigger the easier it is to maintain water parameters, and a healthy tank.
