Aquarium heater

greeneyedblond Nov 29, 2007 04:14 PM

Hi! Is there a way to make my aquarium heater(150-200 watt) more energy efficient? Can i just use it at night to heat the water, and unplug it during the day? Or use during day and unplug at night? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanx!! It is a 30-40 gallon tank with a few chiclids, and some tetra.

You can turn it down but keep an eye on the temp so it dosnt drop to low. What ever you do dont turn it off for 1 the fish will get cold and can die and 2 when you turn it back on it will have to work twice as hard to get the temp back up using more energy.
