Rocks from outside?

Grunngg Jul 28, 2007 05:05 PM

Hey i'm starting up a tank and was curious if its safe to take a large rock or 2 from outside and use them for decorations? I would scrub them and boil them first to sanitize, of course.

Might be ok if you boil them, but everything that is in them (bacteria and what not) might not die by boiling (most would, but some might not). If it was me, I would just buy stuff from the store, but it is up to you since it's your aquarium.
