Our goldfish was doing just fine until a week ago. He started just laying on the bottom of the tank. He'd come up to eat, but that was all. Then I noticed that some of his scales had come off. Now they're really coming off. I went to Pet Supplies Plus and they told me that the goldfish sounded stressed to them and I needed to put Stress Coat in the tank water. I told them I already do this when I put clean water in the tank. They didn't know what to do then. So I went home and added more Stress Coat to the tank. The next day, I added even more. It's been 2 days and the goldfish isn't any better. I haven't done anything different with the tank. We don't like seeing him suffer like this but we don't know what to do, either.
We have a 10 gal tank with a plecto, a neon tetra & a zebra danio in addition to the goldfish. The other fish appear to be just fine, although they do seem to be freaking out on the goldfish being sick.
