Goldfish with apparent fin rot

Esther Dec 23, 2007 03:53 PM

I have a small calico shubunkin whose fins and tail have been steadily eroding. The other fish in the tank are just fine. I tried erythromycin, no effect, and now tetracycline. Haven't seen any improvement so far. Any ideas as to how to save this beautiful little guy?

He may not be able to regrow his tail, but you should be able to stop the rotting. Make sure your water parameters are normal because that makes things worse. Keep us posted on how he's doing.
