My daughter's swordtail has three bumps on her tail. Her tail is black and they are the same colour as her tail, but if you look closely, they appear almost transparent. They are about the size of her eye. Does anyone has any idea what this could be or how to treat? Thanks!

is the bumb white in color can you see it some of the time when its swimming or is it more like a growth there is two things I can think of eather another fish is picking on it or you have ick. ick is white dots on your fish lots of times you see it on one fish and then in a few days to a week you see it on more of your fish you have to get ick med. and treat it like quick cure that you can buy at the fish/pet store or wal mart good luck hope that helped

Thanks for the quick reply. The growths are the same colour as her tail, so they are black raised lumps. Today they appear much smaller. Otherwise, she seems to be acting usual.
