i heave read all the material on pregnant guppies i guess i am just dumb when it comes to fish but what i was wondering is does the abdomen of a female guppy get bigger when she is not pregnant my female i bought from a pet store they said was pregnat when i got her but her gravid spot seems to have lightened (not gone away just lightened ) and a secound ??? my female i beleive is pregnant is the largest guppie of all and the 2 smaller males will bother her instead of my other females this has just started to happen in the last 2 days is there a reason maybe???

The answer to your second question is maybe they think the bigger one will be more successful. Or just personal preference. Now for your first question...that is a bit confusing, but it is possible that your female is absorbing the babies or maybe it's just turning from a reddish color to more of a pinkish color because it's getting closer to her birthing time. That's a tough one...

Let me know if these answers are good enough for you...if not, i can promote your post to see what others think (that's not to say they can't answer you now, but it gets the job done quicker usually).

Ok, well that's probably nothing to be worried about. She's probably about to give birth. Just keep an eye on her for giving birth and the illness signs. Keep in mind that she will look sick because she sits on the bottom of the tank or on the decor, but if you had that heavy belly, you would too.

The males are trying to get ready for a free meal. Are you ready for the fry?
