FF out the wazoo...m

trinacliff Oct 12, 2003 07:58 AM

I just looked at my FF culture and they are coming out of my ears...what would be best (i.e. slowest to rot) to put in the bottom of another jar so I can move some of them so they are not so crowded??? Will they die quicker if overcrowded or will they last their normal life cycle? If they'll live out the rest of their life cycle, it's no big deal...just don't want them to all die off on me. This was one productive culture...wowsers.

Thanks!

What meduim are you using? How long does it last? I'm still experimenting with my homemade potato/vinegar/water/yeast/sugar recipe, but I need more options in case they don't work.

These are cultures of Hydei FF that I ordered. Not sure what type of medium it is. It's a light cream color. I'm trying to put some in a different container as they are all crawling all over each other in the main one. I'm not sure if overcrowding shortens their life span or not...I want them to last as long as they can, obviously.
