info on setting up saltwater tank

prneyes3 Jul 18, 2005 07:34 PM

I hope I am in the right forum, if not please send me in the right direction. I am trying to figure out what I will need to set up a 35 gallon hexagon tank (saltwater). I am very experienced with freshwater tanks and would like to try something new. I would probably start out with hardy fish at first (any suggestions), but would like to eventually have some seahorses and angelfish. I already have the tank & hood/light. Will I need additional lighting? Also for the filter, I have an over the top aquaclear 200, do I need something different. Do you still use ammonia remover cartridges on saltwater tanks. Also, I live more in a country type setting, so we don't have many places that deal in saltwater, Afew sell the fish, but not really the supplies needed. Is there anywhere on the internet that can be suggested, that is both economical and good quality. Thanks so much for any advice

Yes, this is the right place for your questions. I'm a freshwater person so I can't answer your questions but I can tell that I buy aquarium supplies from www.thatpetplace.com, drsfostersmith.com and www.bigalsonline.com.
