iv worked at 2 pet stores, one where we actually sold salt water fish so obviously alot more salt water supplies than the store i work at now. every thing was pretty high priced. im thinking about starting a salt water tank. it wont be any thing really fancy, i dont think i want to go for any coral and no crazy hard to keep fish. so pretty much just live rock and some more basic salt water fish. the tank, the rocks, the filter, every thing i NEED and not the fish, about how much will it cost to set up?

i have a 20G tank now... cost me around $400 to get set up. but it is a reef tank.
shouldnt be overly too costly, deoends in the size of the tank you want. Live Rock(LR) is average $5/lbsCND. if you want to go with live sand, or regular sand... or crushed coral for your bedding....
as for the LR it is suggested you have around 1 - 1.5lbs per galon so a 50galon tank should have roughly 50lbs of LR. and of course, depends on the fish as well.....
