Lighting--Types and Wattages??????????

crocogator106 Nov 16, 2005 09:35 PM

I am setting up a 55 gallon saltwater aquarium and am still confused about lighting. I think I need a 36" double fixture light strip. One bulb being a 96w 50/50 and another being a 96w actinic blue bulb. Are these 96w bulbs avaliable in a regular double fixture floresent light strip?? Am I on the right track with what I have planned??

I assume by now you have figured it out, but I like to try and get a little activity on these things to see if anyone has any interest in having true forums. Anyways, what you described are power compact bulbs in a normal aquarium flourescent fixture. If that is what you are talking about no, it will not work. Power Compacts need a different lighting fixture all together.
